What Pear looks like

Pear opens on a single photograph running the whole width of the screen, with your names over it and the date underneath. Below that the page settles into sea-glass greens and warm stone, and your portrait sits inside an arch rather than a rectangle - the one shape on the page that is not square, which is what makes it the thing people look at.

It is the friendliest of the eight. The type is Cormorant Garamond over Jost: a serif with enough character to feel considered, and a plain sans underneath doing the work of telling guests where to park. Nothing shouts.

There is a countdown on the landing page. It reads as excitement rather than pressure, and it quietly does a job - a guest who sees eleven weeks left is a guest who books a room.

The pear cut is the soft one - rounded at one end, tapered at the other. All eight templates are named after one.
